Skills to be taught in Advanced Beginner Swim Lessons include:
- Front streamline off wall
- Productive flutter kick on front and back
- Coordinated front crawl by coordination of alternating arms and flutter kick
- Coordinating arm stroke for front crawl with breathing to side (for 15 yards)
- Back glide off wall and coordinated backstroke (coordination of alternating arms and flutter kick)
- Introduction of breaststroke
- Deep water bobbing
- Jump off side of pool into deep water and return to wall
- Compact dive off side of pool and return to wall
- Treading water
- Introduction of elementary backstroke
Skills to be taught in Beginner Swim Lessons include:
- Basic breath control (bubble blowing and bobbing)
- Retrieving toys from pool bottom
- Front and back float (first supported and then unsupported) (5 seconds)
- Front and back glide off the wall
- Sculling on back
- Flutter kick on the wall and with a kickboard
- Propelling oneself through the water on front and back by use of a flutter kick (assisted and independently)
- Rolling from front to back and back to front and float on back for 10 seconds
- Introduction to alternating arm action for front crawl and backstroke.
- Introduction to rotary breathing (breathing to the side) in front crawl.
- Introduction to combine stroke for front crawl and backstroke using flutter kick and alternating arms up to 15 yards
