Current Nominee Bios:

Dave Hardy

Hello, my name is Dave Hardy and my family and I live in the Mayfield neighborhood, where we have lived for the past 8 years. My wife, Linn, and I have three children that love Swan Lake and spending time there all summer. This is our 8th year at Swan Lake and we joined Swan Lake in order to have a community pool to spend our summers at with our neighbors and friends. We love the laid back atmosphere at Swan Lake and our family spends countless hours with our children paddling around the pool. My wife and I were both competitive swimmers and the love of water is something that our children have inherited and Swan Lake is a great place for them to grow up at.

I am an Aquatic Professional by passion and by career. I have coached age group competitive swimming full time and part time for over 20 years and have managed pools for over 20 years as well. I am currently the General Manager at the Darnestown Swim and Racquet Club in Gaithersburg, MD,  where I oversee all aspects of the pool, tennis, staffing and many other aspects of Club management. As GM I have sat on our Board of Directors for 20 years and I believe my many years of aquatic experience can help the Swan Lake community grow and continue to be a great place for community members to spend their summers.

Stephen Hart

Hi, My name is Stephen Hart. I have been a Baltimore city resident for over twenty years. My wife and I purchased our home in Hamilton ten years ago, and then with the addition of our daughter became swan lake members 4 seasons ago.

I am a union steamfitter, and have worked on mechanical piping in both industrial and commercial settings. I hold a star fitting licence in addition to x ray pipe welding certifications. I am the chairman of local 486’s benevolence committee, and sit on our political action committee. I also am the Pack Leader of cub scout pack 161.

I hope to be able to bring my experience in the pipe trades, organizing committees, and community work to help benefit our pool and its membership. Swan lake has brought so much joy to both my family and our neighborhood and I look forward to being able to give back. Thank you for your consideration.

Karen Hutchins-Keim

Hi! My name is Karen Hutchins-Keim. My family joined Swan Lake in February of 2020 and then had to wait over 12 months to discover the joys of Swan Lake! My husband Alex and I live in Lauraville with our two sons, Elliott (7) and Garrett (4). Our eldest attends City Neighbors Hamilton, where I serve on the parent-led finance committee. Swan Lake has become the center of our summers—where we congregate after long days at work and camp, meet up with friends, and relax. Professionally, I am an archaeologist leading a team of archaeologists and architectural historians for a civil engineering firm in the Inner Harbor. In that role, I have extensive personnel, project, budget, and contract management responsibilities and experience I am prepared to bring to Swan Lake. I have a lifelong love of swimming. I grew up swimming for Palisades Swim Club in Bethesda, MD in the Montgomery County Swim League. In my teens I was a youth coach teaching the youngest swim team members how to swim and in my 20s I was the head coach for Palisades. I even had the great honor of coaching a 7-year-old Katie Ledecky! My parents were the swim team reps and board members, and I know how much hard work goes into carefree summers at the pool. I went on to swim collegiately and as a US Masters swimmer. I would love the opportunity to contribute my talents as a manager and experience as a swimmer and coach to the Swan Lake community as my sons continue to grow with such a welcoming, inclusive, and committed community. I’d love your support as a new Board member at Swan Lake.

Peter Lomuscio

My name is Peter Lomuscio. I am originally from Italy, and my parents and I migrated to Newark, NJ when I was a boy. I was the first in my family to graduate high school and college. Then I went on to earn an MFA in stage management and worked in New York City’s Off-Broadway and Broadway theaters. I came to Baltimore in 2002 to run the Baltimore Opera Company as the Production Stage Manager. There I stage-managed over 30 grand opera productions. When the opera closed, I went back to school and got a masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I worked as a teacher at Digital Harbor High School in Baltimore City and this year I have been promoted to a Student Success Liaison for Multilingual Learners supporting the teachers and administrators in eleven Baltimore City Public High Schools. I love to dance and cook and as a Pisces I love being by and in any body of water (yes, I consider Swan Lake swim club a body of water). I want to join the board because I love this swim club and I feel that my life experiences and skills make me an asset as a board member.

Robert Ovesen

My name is Robert Ovesen. My partner Peter Lomuscio and I, with our dog, Lily, live in the Northeast Baltimore neighborhood of Arcadia. Originally from Ky, I have been a resident of Baltimore since 2007 and have made it my home. I have been with The Walters Art Museum since 2015 and am currently the Comptroller.

We enthusiastically became members of the Swan Lake Swim Club this year after a 3 year wait on the waiting list. I’m running for the Board to cement my relationship with the Swim Club and to help keep it a safe and enjoyable experience for all its members. I’m excited to meet and work with all of you to help maintain this hidden gem in NE Baltimore. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.
