Frequently Asked Questions
Volunteer Hour Requirements
As per club bylaws, each family is required to complete four hours of volunteer work annually. We operate on an honor system for tracking these hours.
Identifying Volunteer Opportunities
We maintain a comprehensive list of ongoing tasks and jobs that need attention throughout the year.
- You can access the list of volunteer tasks on Google Docs.
- Many tasks on this list are grounds-related, such as gardening. Feel free to take the initiative and assist with these, or contact any board member or Michelle (Club Manager) for guidance.
- If you’re interested in regularly maintaining a specific area (e.g., weeding or trash pickup), inform a Board member, and we’ll officially assign you to that role.
Leveraging Special Skills
Do you possess a special skill or talent that could benefit the club? We are keen to know about it. We aim to establish a database of members with expertise in areas like electrical work, plumbing, technology, or artistry to call upon when specific needs arise.
Events
Our events now follow a cooperative planning model. We encourage volunteer members to lead event coordination. This lead volunteer will partner with a Board member to plan and execute events.
Sign-Up Genius links for events will be shared on our Facebook page and below. If you require assistance with signing up, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Tracking Volunteer Hours
We will continue to track volunteer engagement through sign-in sheets and Sign-Up Genius. This data helps the Board understand the fiscal impact of volunteer contributions.
Please complete this form each time your family completes four hours of volunteer work.
- There is no limit to the amount of volunteering you can do or the number of times you submit this form.
- This tracking is vital for us to assess the financial benefit of volunteer hours and provides an opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank you for your contributions.
We sincerely appreciate the effort each member invests in maintaining Swan Lake. It is through our cooperative spirit that we can keep membership dues low while continually enhancing our facilities.
